Sanchar works with poor people with disabilities and their families to improve their social and economic condition and to raise their voice for their rights to be included in the mainstream society as equal members.

We Believe:

People with disabilities have equal rights as a citizen and should have access to opportunities in every aspect of life like others in the society. Given support, they and their families are competed of understanding and scrutinizing their condition, and execute the best possible means to change their lives.

Presently SANCHAR carries out its Community Based Rehabilitation activities in 15 Panchayats under 4 Blocks of South 24 Parganas (Thakurpukur Maheshtala, Bishnupur I, Bishnupur II and Falta), 1 ward under Kolkata Municipal Corporation, and 5 Panchayats (Panchla, Chara Panchla, Bikihakola, Jalabiswanathpur and Suvarara) under Panchla Block of Howrah District in West Bengal, India. SANCHAR is also associated with several right based networks both at the state and national level and provides training to individuals and organisations on various development issues across India.

  What we do:

SANCHAR has been practicing and promoting CBR for a sustainable Disability Inclusive Development that covers Health and Rehabilitation, Education, Livelihood, Empowerment and Social Security. Based on the nature of the activities, the organisation has two core divisions: Programme Unit (Community Based Inclusive Development) and Resource Support and Training Unit.
