From the very beginning, SANCHAR’s aim has been the inclusion of children with disabilities in the mainstream education system. And it needs lots of hard work to promote inclusion in the village schools where no facilities for children with disabilities are available in terms of infrastructure, curriculum and learning process. But above all, the most important factor is the positive attitude of the teachers and peer groups.
Today many of our children have successfully completed their education from these village schools. It's true that we continuously provide them support using appropriate teaching learning materials, teaching them Braille or Sign Language, and giving training to their parents, but this would have never been possible without the cooperation of the teachers and other students in the class. Hence we regularly facilitate school sensitisation programmes.
We have recently organised orientation programme in Bidyanagar High School and Bishnupur Siksha Sangha School where many of our children are studying in higher classes. We would like to convey our thanks to all the school teachers and the students for their support and cooperation.
