Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals in West Bengal. Like every year, we organised Puja Parikrama on 19th October, 2015 in Kolkata for around 100 children as well as for their families, who hardly get the opportunity to come out from their villages. We also took this opportunity to sensitize a larger community on ‘Disability and Accessibility’. The Puja committees, on a prior request, made their pandals accessible for the persons with disabilities. We are thankful to Shri Ghanasree Bag, Councillor, Ward No. 125 for sponsoring two buses for the children to visit the Pandals. We are also thankful to our friends and volunteers Ms. Ayeshaa Sinha, Dr. Lalila Sinha, Mr. Nilay Chandra, Ms. Soumita Das, Ms. Monalisa Datta, Mr. Rudrajit Chatterjee, Ms. Sampa Dasgupta, Ms. Progyan Banerjee and Ms. Tania Chatterjee for sponsoring the porikroma. Moreover, we were invited by Barisha Netaji Sangha Club to inaugurate their Puja Mandap. Thanks to all the club members for giving us this honour and for the donation and the gifts to the children.
