Celebration of International Day of Persons nceswith Disabilities with Novotel Kolkata Hotel and Residences

On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Novotel Kolkata Hotel and Residences invited us on 28th November, 2015. We received a heart warming welcome from Novotel family. Our children were guided by Chef Tanwir and made sandwiches. Ms. Shailja Poddar, who is a painter made a wonderful painting with the hand prints of the children. Our children taught sign language to the employees of the hotel. The children were taken for a property show round. At the end a gala lunch was organised and the food was served by the employees themselves. The children received gifts and chocolates. We are touched by the hospitality of the entire Novotel family.

Today SANCHAR has built its capacity as a Training Centre at National Level based on its 28 years of experience and has developed a replicable Community Based Rehabilitation model towards a disability inclusive development.

Swabalambi

Swabalambi is an inclusive income generation group of young adults with disabilities and their friends and family members who have already been trained as part of SANCHAR’s livelihood intervention.

Braille Printing Division

The Braille Printing Division was set up in 2005 as part of the Resource Support Unit. Earlier the division used to publish various Acts, advocacy documents, Govt. schemes and facilities both in English and Bengali version.
